Cher Convention Comes to Las Vegas July 12th
Fundraising Event Benefits Children’s Craniofacial Association
Las Vegas; February 26, 2002-The Second Cher Convention comes to Las Vegas this summer with a full schedule of Cher tributes, Cher memorabilia, Cher auctions, Cher films, Cher photos, Cher music, Cher seminars, Cher karaoke, a Cher museum, and…well, you get the general idea-a fun filled event honoring Cher. It’s a chance for her fans from around the world to get together and share the appreciation of the woman they call one of our greatest entertainers. The convention will also include a recreation of The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour by British performers, a Cher Impersonator Show, and the band “GIRL,” from Texas, performing Cher’s songs.
Cher Convention 2002 will be held at the Riviera Hotel, July 12th and 13th. The inaugural convention was held in July of 2000, in Chicago and exceeded all expectations for attendance and participation. Volunteer Cher fans from across the U.S. organize the convention. Additional information on the convention can be obtained at www.cherconvention.com <http://www.cherconvention.com>.
All proceeds raised at the convention goes to a great cause: the Children’s Craniofacial Association (CCA). Cher first became involved with CCA following her award winning performance in “Mask,” in which she played the mother of a boy born with a severe facial disfigurement. Cher is the National Spokesperson for CCA, and often attends the organization’s events, particularly the yearly retreat for the CCA kids and their families. Cher also visits affected children and invites them to her shows across the country. The convention was conceived as a unique way of honoring Cher by supporting a cause in which she deeply believes. Additional information about CCA can be found at www.ccakids.com <http://www.ccakids.com>.
